Job Description:

Fabricate edges of machine cut countertops (such as bevel, bullnose, ogee, half round, etc.). Fabricators are required to use small hand tools, polishing pads, grinding stones, sandpapers, resins, glues, polish powders, etc., to shape, cut, or repair various materials such as natural stone, marble, quartz, and porcelain.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Level I Polisher:

• Operate pneumatic polish machine to polish edges of different material such as natural stone, marble, quartz, and porcelain.
• Touch up corners, cutting and polishing sinks, and smoothing out bottoms of unevenly machine fabricated materials.
• Hand fabricate/polish custom edges.
• Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings.
• Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure polishing standards are met.
• Transfer equipment, materials, or objects to specified work areas using moving devices.
• Maintain an efficient, clean, and organized work area.
• Always performs in a high-quality manner and eliminates waste.

• Operate electric grinder to shape standard edges (bullnose, demi, flat, bevel) of different material such as natural stone, marble, quartz, and porcelain.
• Use handheld router to shape special edges such as ogee, pencil, Dupont, etc.
• Surface polish light color material.
• Hand fabricate/polish custom edges.
• Skillfully mix resins and colors to repair chips and cracks when necessary.
• Ability to cut and shape standard 60/40 kitchen sink within 20 minutes.
• Transfer equipment, materials, or objects to specified work areas using moving devices.
• Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings.
• Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, and measuring their dimensions.
• Ability to calibrate basic tools such as polishing pads, grinders and replace as necessary.
• Maintain an efficient, clean, and organized work area.
• Always perform in a high-quality manner and eliminates waste.

• Operate electric grinder to shape standard edges (bullnose, demi, flat, bevel) of different material such as natural stone, marble, quartz, and porcelain.
• Use handheld router to shape special edges such as ogee, pencil, Dupont, etc.
• Surface polish light color material.
• Hand fabricate/polish custom edges and surface polish all materials.
• Can make integrated sinks independently.
• Skillful in mitered edge techniques for all materials.
• Skillfully mix resins and colors to repair chips and cracks when necessary.
• Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, and measuring their dimensions.
• Ability to calibrate basic tools such as polishing pads, grinders and replace as necessary.
• Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings.
• Transfer equipment, materials, or objects to specified work areas using moving devices.
• Maintain an efficient, clean, and organized work area.
• Always perform in a high-quality manner and eliminates waste.

• Stone or granite fabricating experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Granite/Marble materials or relative home building/construction background is a plus, but not required.
• Must have a basic working knowledge of hand tools.
• Detail oriented.
• Basic reading and math skills to understand fabrication drawings, blueprints, and dimensions.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Must be able to lift 50 - 100 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
