The New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS), Human Capital Line of Service, Bureau of Examinations performs responsible work in the establishment of qualifications for civil service positions, as well as in the development, validation, rating and administration of competitive civil service examinations, and certification of lists of eligible applicants.
The Administration, Customer & Exam Support (ACES) Unit within the Bureau of Examinations is comprised of the Application Processing & Test Administration Unit, five Computer-based Testing & Applications Centers (CTACs) located in each of the five boroughs of New York City, and the Long Island City testing facility where Sanitation Worker and Firefighter candidates take their in-person exams. The ACES Unit is responsible for uploading and maintaining the annual exam schedule within the Online Application System (OASys) including test parts, test dates, and locations for testing. The Unit works with the other units of the Bureau of Examinations and DCAS IT to review general content and format of tests to determine best method for administration of the tests, and to set parameters for and help determine scheduling/rescheduling availability for test sessions.
The Scoring Unit of the Bureau of Examinations scores, reviews, and verifies all test parts for civil service examinations, and uses this information to establish eligible lists and inform candidates of their exam results.
The Bureau of Examinations seeks to appoint one (1) Staff Analyst, L1 to serve as a Data Integrity Specialist. The selected candidate will serve in a hybrid role providing support to both the Application Processing & Test Administration Unit and the Scoring Unit. The candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to the following tasks:
-Investigate and resolve personal data discrepancies (full name and/or social security number) that are discovered when loading exam result information into DCAS' backend systems.
-Process Data Correction forms for exams.
-Troubleshoot candidate, technical, or scoring related issues submitted through the Online Application System (OASys) Help Desk.
-Oversee and monitor the scoring of all test parts for civil service examinations.
-Ensure that the construction of exam eligible lists follows DCAS timelines for such activities.
-Ensure that exam eligible lists are correct, updated timely, and agencies are informed, as required.
-Review candidate eligibility and ensure that the calculations of seniority points for promotion exams are accurate.
-Act as a liaison with the List Management & Audit unit and other Bureau of Examinations units, as well as the Information Technology (IT) line of service at DCAS.
-Identify and address any discrepancies found in different reports; collaborate with the Exam Development Group, Application Processing Unit, and DCAS IT to resolve them.
-Perform related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications
1. A master's degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience working in one or a combination of the following areas: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; or in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; or in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation or fiscal management; or in a related area.
Special Note:
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements, one additional year of professional experience as described in "2" above.
