Job Summary: The Lead Occupational Therapist is responsible for overseeing the efficient management of rehabilitation services within their assigned account(s). This includes assessing patient needs, developing therapy programs, and making referrals to other disciplines as needed. Additionally, the Lead Occupational Therapist instructs and educates patients and caregivers in essential skills for promoting independence and productivity. This role also involves supporting the delivery of high-quality rehabilitation services and promoting clinical excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical oversight and support to therapy staff
  • Manage personnel and consultants within facility or home care contracts
  • Assist in promoting clinical programs and staff development
  • Ensure compliance with practice acts and quality improvement measures
  • Contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and training programs
  • Make referrals to other disciplines and collaborate with the healthcare team
  • Adapt therapy programs according to individual patient needs

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy
  • National Board for Certification in OT
  • Valid occupational therapy license in the state of practice
  • Thorough knowledge of Medicare and third-party billing
  • Preferably at least four years of experience in LTC
