Job Summary
Best Remedy is a privately owned urgent care practice that specializes in quality care, and personable service. We pride ourselves on establishing our business as the go-to location for caring personnel, transparent practices, and helping ensure quality healthcare is available to anyone who needs it.
We are looking for qualified Family Nurse Practitioners who wish to work in a positive work culture focused on our patients.
The Nurse Practitioner will be expected to work independently and alongside other providers and medical personnel, in a safe and compliant manner following the Maryland Scope of practice Act, and Best Remedy Urgent Care’s policies & procedures, as well as national regulatory licensing guidelines.
Recent Grads, and students seeking preceptors are welcome to apply. Full-time, Part-time Available. Weekdays are preferred. Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
Roles and Responsibilities
Perform thorough physical examination
Assess and diagnose patient’s health status
Order and interpret diagnostic test results
Formulate patient care plans and prescribe appropriate treatment
Provides education to patients regarding the results of diagnostic studies and counseling to patients about their care
Document findings and care rendered
Preferred Skills and Experience
Strong visual, verbal, written and typed communication skills
Strong capabilities in collaborative approaches with other advanced practice providers
Ability to provide guidance to other medical staff
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to make independent decisions regarding patient care
Experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of common medical conditions
Basic working knowledge of urgent care setting simple procedures (sutures, splints, I&D)
Working knowledge of AthenaHealth EHR strongly preferred
Proficiency with computers and ability to use requisite tools, systems, technology, and equipment in the collection of patient data.
Education
Nurse Practitioner- Masters or Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited institution
Certifications and Licenses
Have and maintain a current, valid state of Maryland NP License, License must be in good standing
Have and maintain a valid DEA License and CDS certification
Have and maintain a current, valid state of Maryland RN license
At least 2 years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner
BLS certification required

Must be able to sit, stand, and walk 8 to 12 hours as needed
Ability to lift to 30 pounds
Ability to hear phones, pages and patients in a medical environment
Visual acuity to accurately interact with computerized devices, screens, and detailed written documents for up to 12 hours a day
