Job Description
The AT Services Manager is responsible to provide center-based and community individual/group instruction in Access Technology with off the shelf and specialized computer software/hardware at the SAAVI worksites statewide. Supervises AT Instructors and IT Support Analysts statewide.
This position contributes to Saavi Services for the Blind mission to cultivate growth and opportunity for blind people through nonvisual skills training; gaining the knowledge that all challenges have solutions, and fostering self-efficacy, empowerment and confidence. This means that all hold a positive philosophy of blindness, and all contribute to the success for each student.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
· Develop and ensure ongoing structure and competencies for the Access Technology component of rehabilitation
· Insure accurate and timely processing of all recommended equipment for student distribution
· conduct research and develop programmatic presentations and projects on current access technology trends and products as required
· Train, coach and mentor AT Instructors
· Facilitate worksite evaluation/modification, community workshops and community and home-based training
· Work collaboratively in a team to support student and agency success
· Reinforce proper cane technique and other nonvisual skills during all activities.
· Serve as a role model for students in the use of nonvisual techniques and problem-solving skills.
· Demonstrate respect and inclusion for all,
· Adhere to all timelines or develop reasonable alternate plans for accomplishing job tasks.
· Support student learning through incorporating braille, technology, cane travel and ILS, in all settings throughout all Saavi activities and practices.
· Ensure learning shade and cane is used at all times whilst taking part in Saavi Services for the Blind and other appropriate activities.
· Positively represent Saavi in professional development and special functions as needed

Skills and Knowledge:
· Associates Degree in Education, Social Work, or Computer-related field
· Minimum one-year experience in program development, growth, supervision or planning
· Five years’ experience using a combination of access technology in a work or academic setting
· Proficient and experienced in industry standard Access Technology including but not limited to screen reading, magnification, OCR, note taking/PDA applications
· Two years’ experience teaching Access Technology to adults
· Strong ability to trouble shoot and makes basic and intermediate computer and access technology repairs
· Experience advocating for individuals
· Strong relationship building skills
· Strong teamwork and ability to incorporate macro and micro systems simultaneously
· Ability to work autonomously with strong problem solving, critical thinking skills
Essential Job Functions:
· Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop and bend for periods of time
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
· Possess a high degree of initiative, sound judgment and sensitivity in maintaining confidential materials and discretion
Conditions of Employment:
· Ability to pass a Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) background check
· Ability to obtain an approved DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card (provided by SAAVI)
· Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification (provided by SAAVI)
· Possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License is preferred but is not required. If driving SAAVI vehicles must have a clean driving record and be approved by SAAVI insurance
· Participate in SAAVI orientation and training with introduction to blindness emersion activities, this occurs under sleep shade and is designed to teach competencies of non-visional techniques. The duration of time is dependent upon employee’s specific job and individual goals being accomplished
