Job Summary:

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will apply scientific knowledge and therapy to practical clinical problems of respiratory care. You will perform a wide range of procedures related to the care of patients with general and specialized respiratory-related needs of various age groups, under medical direction.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform evaluations to determine respiratory care needs and make appropriate recommendations and changes in accordance with policy and protocol guidelines
  • Perform advanced evaluation, management and therapeutic procedures for patients requiring respiratory assistance
  • Complete and document required education and competencies within designated timeframe
  • Accurately and timely complete all necessary documentation and billing
  • Facilitate a smooth transition for the patient to appropriate referral services / the next point of service / home and provide education to patients and families as it relates to respiratory issues
  • Instruct and train other respiratory care staff, nursing and other medical personnel and students regarding patient needs and respiratory care services

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy required
  • 2 years of relevant experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine, or equivalent clinical education required
  • LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab 90 Days required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required

Location: Butterworth Hospital - 100 Michigan St - Grand Rapids
