Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team. This critical role will provide diagnosis, medication management, and medical treatment to clients and their families, ensuring continuity of care in both the agency and the community. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will play a key part in the recovery process for individuals coping with mental illness, physical illness, and substance abuse.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide psychiatric diagnosis, medication management, and medical treatment aligned with patients' mental health needs.
- Deliver crisis intervention, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy as needed for your caseload.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to implement and monitor treatment strategies for patients and their families.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of treatment documentation.
- Maintain adherence to agency standards, regulatory requirements, and COMAR guidelines.
- Participate in a rotating after-hours cell phone coverage schedule approximately every 12-14 weeks.
- Education: Must possess a Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Licensure: Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (CRNP-PMH), Board Certification or Board Eligibility, and all applicable licensure for prescribing Buprenorphine.
- Experience: Must have experience working with various populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Competence in psychiatric diagnoses, evaluation, assessment, and treatment, including individual, group, and family therapy, is essential.
- Skills:
- Strong competency in medication management, laboratory tests, and medical procedures related to psychiatric care.
- Ability to function as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team, demonstrating excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Sensitivity and cultural competence when working with diverse populations and respecting patient confidentiality.
- Ethics: Must adhere to professional ethical standards and maintain licensure and certifications relevant to the practice.
