Position: SAP Technical Designer

Location: Remote- but must be willing to work EST core hours and travel occasionally 1-2 times a quarter

Contract Length: 6 months +

Top 3 requirements:
  • 7+ years of SAP hands-on development and design experience with SAP systems S4 HANA, BPC and MDG.
  • Strong understanding of integration technologies like CPI, PI, Mulesoft. (Actual integration project experience would be a plus)
  • Experience with of the core SAP modules like FICO, MM and SD. (Experience customizing in those areas is a plus.)
  • Strong communication skills is a must. Will be responsible for communicating with developers, solutions architect, functional analyst, etc. Will need to bridge the gap between all areas. Ability to adapt to different communication styles - understand the functional lingos (process flows, requirements) as well as the technical lingo.
  • Ability to challenge/push back on requirements if you see something that could be done in a better way in accordance with the SAP guidelines/standards.
Day to Day Responsibilities/project specifics:

Overview:

The goal of this function is to design new IT functionalities in support of business projects or to enhance the business capabilities of SAP solutions implemented. Main accountabilities are around solid and re-usable design of new applications, innovation, technical design advice, technical solutions estimations, be the layer between functionals, project managers, developers, business, security, and basis team.

Responsibilities:
  • Be the first contact for SAP development technical design, advise, prototype, estimations, and technical solution proposals.
  • Review functional specifications and make sure the proposed solution is technically feasible, secure by design, performant and re-usable.
  • On demand analyses new solutions, advise on options, risks, costs and benefits, and impact on other business processes propose best solutions considering strategy and norms.
  • Have a broad view on the existing developments, propose to adapt/reuse existing developments instead of building new ones.
  • Comprehend the business processes and the information flows, being able to quickly understand any new impact on these flows for new applications
  • Be the SAP development standard safeguard, the technical design should respect the SAP best practices, avoid any deviations in the proposals.
  • Collaborates efficiently with the Business partners, COE Functional Specialists, Solution/Enterprise architects, and application architects to ensure alignment of new SAP applications.
  • Prototype solutions, investigate new technologies/techniques, build proof of concepts applications.
  • Collaborate closely with SAP solution architects and provide technical advice for new SAP applications.
  • Participate in project lifecycle as technical adviser and steer the decision for the best technical design considering implementation and support cost.
  • Help and coach the development team from technical design perspective or in the development techniques.
  • Recognizes the specific way of doing, and culture, of the organization and adapts behavior accordingly

  • Lead in the development of programmingâ₠™s standards and procedures and publish/communicate regularly.

Required skills:

SAP applications Technical Designer, with a minimum of ten (10+) years of experience in analysis and design of SAP Implementation Projects.
  • SAP hands-on development experience with a minimum of 10 years hands on development in various SAP systems, mainly S4 HANA, BPC, MDG. Experiences in ECC, BW, F&R, CAR, SRM is a plus.
  • Development experience in all SAP techniques and objects.
  • Proved technical design experience in SAP application developments.
  • Very good understanding of integration technologies like CPI, PI, Mulesoft, and experience in integration projects is welcomed.
  • Good understanding of the main SAP modules like SD, MM, FICO, experience in customizing in those areas is a plus.
  • Experience in SAP IS-RETAIL project is a major plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with the various technical or functional teams.
  • Very good negotiation skills.
  • Ability to conduct research and recommend changes in an existing, changing, or emerging environment.
  • Fast understanding of SAP landscape and business flows, pro-active attitude.
  • Analytical mind-set with a strong eagerness to learn.
  • Familiar and used to work in a full remote environment.
  • Performing well under stress situations.
