Stoneleigh-Burnham School, an independent girls’ boarding and day school for grades 7-12, seeks a full-time year-round Housekeeper, effective immediately.

Located in the Pioneer Valley, a short drive from the Five College Consortium (UMass Amherst, Smith, Mount Holyoke, Hampshire, and Amherst College),

Stoneleigh-Burnham School is the only girls’ school in New England to offer the IB Diploma Programme and attracts students from the local area and around the world. Duties and Responsibilities:

· Cleans lounges, rest rooms, corridors, stairways, laundry rooms, and offices.

· Sweeps and mops floors and vacuums rugs and draperies.

· Dusts furniture and removes cobwebs.

· Washes windows, door panels, and sills.

· Spot washes walls and woodwork as needed.

· Empties wastebaskets and recycles.

· Transports trash and waste to disposal and /or recycling area.

· Carpet spills are spot cleaned ASAP to prevent permanent stains.

· Dishes and glasses are picked up as needed.

· Replenishes bathroom supplies.

· All other duties as assigned: Including backup of people absent due to illness or vacation.

· Special functions including Reunion, Summer Camp, visitors, etc

Qualities and Qualifications:
  • Must be able to work well both in a team environment and independently.
  • Must have the ability to recognize problems as they arise and bring them to the attention of the Director of the Buildings and Grounds department.
  • Must be able to follow safety guidelines and exercise good judgment in all aspects of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional growth and development
  • The desire to work in a boarding school community and be invested in campus life
  • Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs
