The 1:1 School LPN/LVN providesinstruction for the student’s general wellbeing and disease prevention. TheSchool LPN/LVN monitors the student’s physical conditions in the school settingand refers the student to appropriate resources as needed. The work of the School LPN/LVN is performedin compliance with his/her LPN/LVN scope of practice and according to stateeducation codes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides first aid care and medically prescribed services Maintains security of school health supplies and medicationin the school setting Provides follow-up evaluations on students as required Corresponds with parents on health needs of children Records immunizations, health findings, and other relevanthealth data Identifies abnormal growth and development, symptoms ofdisease and discuss with parents Develops and maintains health records on students Develops positive working relationships Supports student medical needs during transport asapplicable Minimum Requirements: Current LPN/LVN license for the state in which the nursepractices Current PPD or Chest X-Ray One year prior professional nursing experience in schoolsetting preferred Pediatric experience preferred Current BLS card Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatment Considerable knowledge of child growth and development Some knowledge of public health problems and procedures fortreatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies Some knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws andregulations affecting the delivery of school health services Understands the school organization and the community served Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required Computer proficiency preferred Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: Competitive pay & weekly paychecks Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) savings plan Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
