Friendship is looking for Licensed Practical Nurse to join our dedicated team at our Friendship Assisting Living on Hershberger Road. The ideal LPN will be extremely detail-oriented and possess in-depth knowledge of patient procedures. Providing patient care is a vital part of this job which is why excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed.

Full-Time LPN Sign On Bonus - Upon hire you are eligible for $7,500 paid out in equal installments beginning our your first paycheck continuing every paycheck until you have reached 18 months of employment.

Shift Available:

  • Part Time 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. including every other weekend
  • Full Time 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. including every other weekend
Qualifications:
  • Must be a licensed LPN in the state of VA or eligible to sit for boards in the state of VA
  • BLS required/ACLS preferred. Friendship can provide training
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience in a long-term care or assisted living facility preferred
Responsibilities:
  • Directs activities of nursing staff, assigns and supervises all duties
  • Supervises medication administration including, but not limited to medication administration record reviews, changes, discontinued medications. Must be able to administer all injections. The charge nurse on each shift will be responsible for the proper documentation of MAR's including refusal and PRN administration.
  • Responsible for implementing all physicians' order including proper documentation on MAR and ordering of medication
  • Prepare documentation to accompany residents to medical appointments
  • Implement physician orders when residents return from the doctor, scheduling transportation and referral appointments and transportation as necessary
  • Supervises administration of prescribed diets and fluid intake/output the documentation and notification to physician
  • Assure the resident plan is followed
  • Responsible for ordering blood work, wound care, blood glucose testing supplies and incontinent supplies
  • Responsible for resident family relations and grievance counseling
  • Responsible for control drug counts and inventory on shift
