Description

The Quality Engineer is responsible for creating and establishing strategies for quality assurance in new product introduction and production. This individual will be an integral part of the QA team and will consult with other departments, such as production, maintenance, project management, account management, supply chain, purchasing and leadership at all levels to ensure quality requirements are established and maintained to drive the quality of the products to meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide key knowledge and insights to ensure compliance and efficiency of the QMS and to drive quality into the products that are provided by Precision Science.
  • Ensure the requirements for incoming inspection support product quality requirements.
  • Ensure the requirements are established for outgoing shipments ensuring product quality requirements.
  • Develop and maintain process flow diagrams, process risk management and process control plans are established for all products.
  • Ensure that process controls are established through visual standards, engineering controls, or other mitigations defined in the process risk analysis.
  • Ensure all process controls are established and documented in the released process(es) and material documentation.
  • Provide support in investigations, determination of root causes, and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Facilitate the overall risk management for the supply chain, facilities, process, production, and distribution processes at Precision Science.
  • Identify and as directed, drive continuous improvement and improved efficiencies.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Function as an information source for production technicians and other departments when record issues arise.
  • Work in conjunction with QA Manager and the QA/QC Director and other team members to assist in special projects.
  • Other duties as assigned. M-F 8am-4:30pm

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

1-5 years of production and/or design quality experience required.

EDUCATION:

BS in a technical discipline

ESSENTIAL ABILITIES:
  • Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
  • Ability to accurately transcribe, analyze and document data.
  • Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
