Technologist will possess skills and system for first aid as necessary and renew skills annually per job requirements. Maintains adequate records as directed on requisitions, etc. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness. Secures and returns supplies. Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.Technologist insures that all guidelines are followed for the patient, co-workers and understand what requirements are necessary. May be responsible for specific areas of instruction for ancillary personnel. Technologist will cooperate in education for ancillary staff, students and whomever directed by supervisor or medical or Administrative Directors. Practices sterile technique and prevents cross contamination. Technologist will consistently provide sterile environment items to insure patient's and co-workers' well being. Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis. Proper technical factors as exam, diagnosis indicates; technologist sets equipment as needed. Transfers and positions patients. Technologists moves patient into positions per exam, radiologist dictates. Addresses all patient information to ensure patient safety, and directs patients accordingly Completion of formal training from an MRI program accredited by the ARRT. If no MRI registry at hire, UPMC Altoona will provide training and clinical experiences. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: ARRT Certification Must obtain MRI registry within 18 months of hire date. If no MRI registry at hire, UPMC Altoona will provide training and clinical experiences.
