This position reports directly to the Program Manager of the department and is responsible to provide group and one to one instruction daily to consumers; record data regarding the daily progress of customers meeting their ISP objectives; ensure the safety of customers; maintain classroom equipment; provide general clean-up for facility; assist in application of behavioral management techniques as specified in instructional plans; provide personal care such as toileting, dressing, feeding and mobility assistance to consumers when necessary; provide lifting and positioning of customers as instructed to promote and maintain a congenial supportive work environment and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have transportation
- Must maintain First Aid and CPR Certificates. (company provides courses and certification)
- Have knowledge of developmental and physical disabilities, behavior and medical problems that can accompany the primary and secondary disability.
- Must be in good health with the ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of basic personal care and behavior modification techniques; must be able to remain calm in situations of high stress; must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Valid CA-Driver's License and insurance for mileage reimbursement.

Respite: To provide primary caregivers of disabled clients temporary relief from their duties.
