We are seeking a 3rd Shift Chemist for a growing chemical manufacturing company located in North Chicago The Chemist is responsible for performing routine jobs associated with the testing and approving of chemical and blends.

  • Shift : training on 1st shift 9a-5:30p for ~2 months and then will transition to 3rd shift 5:00p-3:30a M-F shift (will include shift differential)

  • Pay Range : $19-21/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and testing on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.

  • Inspect USP containers and tankers, as needed.

  • Perform gauging, sampling, and documentation for incoming ethanol shipments.

  • Maintain accurate records of test results, chemical status, and nonconformance reports.

  • Ensure proper documentation and upkeep of quality records.

  • Verify raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products meet established specifications.

  • Generate certificates of analysis.

  • Perform USP and routine monograph testing, as applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Chemistry or a related science field (with lab experience).

  • Familiarity with modern quality principles and industrial practices is preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in typing, filing, and basic PC skills; experience with Windows and Microsoft Office is a plus.
