  • Registered Tech: Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (R-PSGT) or equivalent; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), or Registered Encephalographic Technologist (R-EEGT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent.

About the Job:
  • The Polysomnographic (PSG) Technologist Director works under the general supervision of the medical director, center director, or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.
  • Supervises sleep center personnel assigned to respective shifts.
  • Enforces hospital and departmental policies; acts in capacity of Director when so designated in Director's absence. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education.
  • Polysomnographic Technologist can perform the duties defined for a Polysomnographic Technician and may provide supervision of other staff during night shift or day shift.


Responsible for the organization and coordination of the operations of the Sleep Center. Responsible for all staff functions which includes, but not limited to, staff schedules job duty performance. Assures all sleep studies are acquired properly and to lab’s standards. Proficient in sleep study scoring and in acquisition of all sleep studies. Will acquire and score sleep studies as needed. May provide coverage for overnight staff during breaks and for any other reason staff assistance is needed. Assists Sleep Lab Medical Director and other sleep clinicians as required. Associates degree required. Bachelors degree preferred. Licensed as appropriate per state requirements. Minimum 3-5 years of experience. Previous supervisory experience required.
