Position Overview:

The University of Central Oklahoma has a research contract with the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office to complete a Highway Safety Observation Study for 2024. This study will include a Seat Belt Survey, and Child Restraint Survey. The Field Observer will be hired from approximately May 16th - August 30th, 2024, and will complete training as well as collect data for this study during this time. This is a seasonal, part-time position.

All travel will be in the State of Oklahoma. All travel will be in the State of Oklahoma. **Note** This position is 100% remote and flexible for locations across the state of Oklahoma.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions:

Travel to various locations in Oklahoma to observe and record data on Seat Belt Usage Survey. Travel to various locations in Oklahoma to observe and record data on Child Restraint Survey. Complete all data entry sheets and turn in all deliverables by July 15, 2024. Any suspect or missing data will need to be re-surveyed.

Qualifications Required:

General education or vocational training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and be able to operate a typical motor vehicle.

Qualifications Preferred:

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Good organizational skills. Excellent typing and computer skills

Physical Demands:

Candidates must be able to stand outside their vehicles to observe oncoming traffic. Observations will be conducted between the hours of 7 AM and 7 PM during the months of June and July and candidates must be able to withstand the Oklahoma summer weather conditions.
