Description

Performs all typical duties of a retail mail order, specialty pharmacy staff technician as defined by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy and local pharmacy drug outlet procedures. Fills physician orders for patient medications under a Registered Pharmacist's supervision. Communicates and coordinates care for the needs of the pharmacy patients; including patients living with HIV, travel health and immunization clinic patients. Has advanced knowledge and skills in one or more specialty areas in the pharmacy. (Advanced skills include specific certifications such as immunization administration, MTM).

This technician position requires flexibility in work locations, rotating shifts between Providence Portland Professional Plaza Building (Suite 222) and our Credena Durham location (Tigard/Portland)

Required Qualifications:

  • Upon hire: Oregon Pharmacy Technician License Or Oregon Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician
  • Upon hire: In compliance with the Providence Health and Services-OR Human Resources policy #302 Background Checks, a criminal background check is required for this position, based on assigned duties.1 year Experience (2080 hours) of pharmacy practice
  • 1 year Customer Service
  • 1 year For internal promotion candidate must be competent in all responsibilities of an Associate Pharmacy Technician: (external candidates are required to have the equivalent experience)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program.
  • National Certification and/or CPhT

About the Team

Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.

HCC provides a full range of services and support for people of all ages, especially those facing chronic or life-limiting illnesses.
