SeKON is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Information Security Analyst to join our Information Security team. In this role, you will lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of security measures to protect the organization's computer networks and sensitive information. You will ensure appropriate security controls are in place to safeguard critical digital assets and electronic infrastructure while responding effectively to security breaches and threats.

With over 25 years of experience, SeKON specializes in providing large-scale health IT programs in support of federal government customers including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), Defense Health Agency (DHA), and National Institutes of Health (NIH). RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Security Strategy Development: Design, implement, and upgrade comprehensive security measures to protect networks, systems, and sensitive data.
  • Monitor and Analyze Threats: Continuously monitor network traffic for suspicious activity, vulnerabilities, and threats. Use advanced tools to identify and respond to potential risks.
  • Incident Response: Lead the investigation and resolution of security breaches, viruses, and other cyber threats. Work closely with IT and other departments to minimize damage and restore operations.
  • Ensure Compliance: Oversee the implementation of security controls that meet industry regulations and organizational policies. Ensure compliance with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, and HIPAA.
  • Audits and Risk Assessments: Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and penetration tests to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
  • Mentorship and Leadership: Provide guidance to junior security analysts and IT staff, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of cybersecurity awareness.
  • Policy Development: Assist in the creation and enforcement of cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Partner with IT, legal, and business teams to integrate security into all aspects of the organization's operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in information security, cybersecurity, or a related field. Proven ability to lead security initiatives.
  • Certifications (Preferred): CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent certifications.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM tools, antivirus programs, and endpoint security. Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security, and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threat modeling, and attack mitigation strategies. Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements and security frameworks.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication and leadership abilities.
