Job DescriptionThe Mechanical Engineer - Operations & Maintenance (O&M) is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of mechanical systems and equipment within the facility. This role involves conducting regular maintenance, troubleshooting issues, overseeing repairs, and implementing preventive maintenance programs. The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with other engineering disciplines, technicians, and management to maintain a safe and efficient operation.Maintenance and Repairs:Perform routine inspections and maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, ensuring timely and effective repairs.Oversee the execution of repairs, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.Preventive Maintenance:Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability and longevity.Schedule and conduct regular maintenance activities to prevent breakdowns and minimize downtime.Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.Operational Support:Monitor the performance of mechanical systems, identifying opportunities for improvement.Assist in the planning and execution of operational strategies to optimize equipment efficiency.Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs and achieve organizational goals.Safety and Compliance:Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential hazards.Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance.Project Management:Participate in the planning and execution of mechanical engineering projects.Coordinate with contractors and vendors for the procurement of equipment and services.Monitor project progress, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget constraints.Technical Documentation:Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including manuals, schematics, and maintenance records.Provide training and support to maintenance staff on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and project status.Continuous Improvement:Identify and implement process improvements to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.Stay informed about advancements in mechanical engineering and maintenance practices.Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Minimum 5years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in an O&M role.Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and maintenance practices.Proficiency in using maintenance management software and other relevant tools.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Strong organizational and project management abilities.Effective communication and teamwork skills.Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.Capable of standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
