Reference #: 4744531 THE POSITION: The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking for a 3 Year Limited Term Environmental Education Specialist to work in the Northwest Region. In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist in the planning and development of wildlife education programs for schools, conservation organizations, community groups, and interested parties throughout the ten counties of the Northwest Region of the state. If you are passionate about promoting environmental education, this is the opportunity for you DESCRIPTION OF WORK: An Environmental Education Specialist represents the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) at wildlife focused programs. This includes conducting and assisting with educational programs, interacting with the public by providing information and answering inquiries related to wildlife conservation and PGC programs, and assisting in the development of educational materials for events and visitor center information. Other duties to include but not limited to: Assisting with the Junior Game Warden Camp in the region Assisting with volunteer programs and recruiting volunteers Recording and editing informational videos and photos related to agency business for use in a variety of applications such as Game News, Social Media, etc. Preparing virtual learning materials Assisting with regional marketing, outreach, and communication Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time, 3 Year Limited Term Employment. Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Some weekend work may be necessary. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's degree in environmental education, education, the natural sciences, social sciences, or parks and recreation; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
