General Notes

Project coordination and marketing for the Father's Playbook, a grant-funded mobile application project designed to promote dads' involvement in pregnancy and parenting based out of the UT Center for Health Communication (CHC). Position is a full-time, grant-funded, and contingent on continued receipt of funding. Position funding ends 8/31/2025 but may continue based on grant funding continuation.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the daily project manager for the Father's Playbook grant project, facilitating collaboration with project team and internal and external stakeholders

  • Serve as marketing and content creation expert; develop and distribute evidence-based, effective, and creative health communication messages to promote Father's Playbook

  • Create and implement a marketing plan to promote downloads and app usage among expectant fathers; emphasis on use of social media and search engine optimization (SEO) marketing tactics; contribute creative marketing strategies that can be implemented with limited resources

  • Track and report on marketing metrics; demonstrate progressive success in increasing connections with target audience, app downloads, and app usage

  • Collaborate closely with faculty Principal Investigators, including regular communication and reporting; collaborate with project graphic designer to create effective visual communication and marketing; collaborate with internal research team to make strategic marketing decisions; collaborate with app developer team as necessary

  • Work with subject matter experts to create new articles as content within the Father's Playbook app

  • Assist in oversight of graduate research assistants and undergraduate interns performing duties related to the project such as content creation

  • Project coordination for other health communication programs based in the Center for Health Communication as funding and need require

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, public health, or a related field

  • Three years of relevant experience in marketing and program coordination

  • Experience creating and implementing marketing plans

  • Experience managing social media

  • Experience writing creative and effective content for various outlets, including websites and social media

  • Ability to use primary and secondary data to develop deep understanding of parent target audience

  • Ability to demonstrate creativity within constraints

  • Alignment with the CHC's mission and values

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in communication, marketing, public health, or a related field

  • Four years of relevant experience in marketing and program coordination

  • Experience promoting or marketing a digital product or mobile app

  • Previous experience purchasing paid social media advertising

  • Experience managing search engine optimization (SEO)

  • Experience purchasing Google ads and other paid advertising

  • Training and experience in health communication research or practice

  • Experience with bilingual (English and Spanish) content creation and promotion

Salary Range

$50,000 + depending on qualifications
