The HCA Nurse Residency Program is an expertly designed, year-long program that equips you with the essential hands-on experience to build critical clinical and cognitive skills. Job Summary and Qualifications

In the HCA Nurse Residency Program at Retreat Doctors' Hospital, you will gain vital tools to thrive in a modern hospital environment. This paid program assists you in transitioning from classroom learning to real-world application through a structured series of educational experiences, including:

  • Advanced clinical training in specialty areas.
  • Monthly educational sessions.
  • Hands-on preceptorship with experienced mentors.
  • Skill assessments through practical simulations.
  • Guidance from accomplished nurse leaders.
  • Collaboration on evidence-based practice projects.

Flexibility starts available Shifts will vary based on departmental needs.

The RN Resident is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-focused care according to departmental requirements and nursing standards. Collaborating closely with medical professionals and the care team, the RN Resident provides personalized and holistic care, serving as an advocate for patients and their families throughout their healthcare journey.

Key Responsibilities in this Role:

  • Properly assess patient conditions during admission and on each shift, identifying and reporting any variations in status.
  • Execute procedures and manage care as instructed by medical providers, ensuring accurate documentation of all actions.
  • Administer prescribed medications while monitoring patient responses, intervening as necessary.
  • Deliver exceptional care by addressing patient requests timely and proactively anticipating their needs.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care, ensuring clarity in communication.

Qualifications Required:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification to be completed within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification to be acquired within the first year of employment.
  • Other certifications may be mandated during employment.
  • Must possess an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse License or active Graduate Nurse status in the state.
  • No previous experience is required.
  • Willingness to travel for training may be necessary.
