Our Engineered Solutions segment offers advanced process technologies and solutions that are designed to improve our customers' manufacturing processes and projects. This segment includes our High-Temperature Technologies and Environmental & Infrastructure product lines. Our High-Temperature Technologies product line offers specially-formulated blends and technologies primarily for Foundry and Steelmaking industries. Our Environmental & Infrastructure product line provides waterproofing, water purification, remediation and other fluid management technologies for critical projects for Remediation, Water Purification, and Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Job Summary
Seeks a self-directed IT intern with a passion for technology, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. The Information Technology Intern will provide technical assistance and support to MTI's network, hardware, and software issues. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform investigations in accordance with incident response standards.
  • Assist hardware installations, de-installations, upgrades, configuration changes and modifications.
  • Write scripts for system or application automation tasks.
  • Determining causes of computer/software/network-based security alerts through evaluation and testing.
  • Assist users in determining appropriate secure solutions to meet needs.
  • Provide user training for security questions and issues.
  • Maintains open communication and positive working relationship with staff.
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

  • Understands and/or actively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving.

Major / Relevant Field of Study: Must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate level degree in computer or engineering related field.

Requirements:

Must have completed sophomore year before the start date of internship.

Must be available and willing to commit at least 3 months initially for an internship.

Ability to prioritize tasks and efficiently manage time.

Strong oral and written communications skills.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Must be able to speak, red, and write english.

Licensing: None

Travel: None

Work Hours: As agreed upon, based on intern/apprentice/co-op availability and business needs.

Safety Training: A new employee hired to perform the duties of this position is required to be provided New Employee Training by a qualified individual or through the online training system. Additionally, an employee must be provided further training if a job duty/task has changes that will affect the health and safety aspects of that employee's position.

Additional refresher safety training will be required as management deems appropriate or as dictated by government regulations.
