Summary/Objective

The MEP Coordinator oversees the design, installation, and integration of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for construction projects. This role closely collaborates with architects, engineers, and contractors to facilitate efficient planning and execution of MEP components. The MEP Coordinator’s key duties include reviewing design documents, coordinating installation schedules, managing subcontractors, and ensuring strict adherence to building codes and project specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day Project activities under supervision of the Project Manager
  • Assess MEP design specifications and plans for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors for seamless integration of MEP systems into project plans.
  • Develop and manage installation schedules, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project timelines.
  • Oversee MEP subcontractors, including selection, negotiation, and coordination to meet project requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and regulations for all MEP installations.
  • Address and resolve issues or conflicts during MEP system planning and execution.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the performance and reliability of MEP systems.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to monitor and control costs related to MEP systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Construction Science or Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction industry, 3-5+ years is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • In-depth understanding of MEP systems, building codes, and construction processes.
  • Proficiency in construction project management software.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Self-starter with a high degree of personal responsibility and integrity
  • Must be able to work in a field construction environment which includes walking in rough terrain.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Travel long distances, depending on assigned project(s) location.
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours a week and weekend assignments.
  • Detail oriented
