General Summary: Install, maintain and repair sanitation units, water and gas supply lines, heating systems, and associated fixtures and appliances in the Colorado Convention Center. This position will also be required to design or review designs and inspect plumbing systems, perform diagnostics, and ensure they comply with regulatory codes. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Interpret blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials Install pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids Install supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation Assemble fittings and valves for installation Modify length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed Use saws and pipe cutters as necessary Install heating and air-conditioning systems, including water heaters Collaborate with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing Test plumbing systems for leaks and other problems Analyze problem and identifies appropriate tools and materials for repair Choose plumbing materials based on budget, location, and intended uses of building Follow health and safety standards and complies with building codes Write report documenting the problem and summary of actions taken Perform inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts Prepare bids and schedules and oversees other workers, such as apprentices and helpers Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
