Job Title: IT Technician

Location: Detroit, MI Hybrid (3 days onsite T,W,T)
Duration: 12 Months
Role Type: W2 contract engagement

Job Summary:
The IT Technician is responsible for providing support for the stable operation of in-house IT environments. This role involves diagnosing, resolving, and documenting IT problems, implementing changes to IT systems/networks, and sharing technical knowledge within the team. The IT Technician operates under general supervision in accordance with established policies and procedures and contributes individually without direct reports.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Perform tasks related to supporting internal/external clients and assigned IT functions.
  • Assist in identifying, analyzing, and resolving IT problems to enable clients to perform critical business functions.
  • Utilize tools to monitor, install, or repair IT equipment.
  • Provide planning and time estimates for work assignments.
  • Write reports, documentation, and technical proposals.
  • Assist in preparing and conducting presentations.
  • Help develop training and information materials.
  • Aid in establishing benchmarks related to performance metrics.
  • Promote a continuous improvement philosophy and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within IT.
  • Use operating system principles and tools to develop effective IT solutions for process improvement.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

This is a multi-track role, and requirements can be satisfied through one of the following options:
  1. High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of related IT experience.
  2. Associate Degree in IT-related discipline and 1 year of IT-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in an IT-related field.
  • Industry-recognized certification (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft).
Other Requirements:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to interact with individuals at all levels.
  • Strong customer support and telephone skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to recommend and implement IT solutions.
  • Understanding of the IT industry (emerging technologies, industry standards, systems design, etc.).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, project, or matrixed environment, handling multiple clients and assignments.
  • Ability to work shifts alone or with limited supervision, including weekends and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license with a vehicle capable of carrying a ladder and 200 lbs. of equipment.
  • Ability to work from heights.
