Ophthalmology Openings - Southern Illinois Near Carbondale

  • Private group practice that has 6 Ophthalmologists and 25 Optometrists in 36 office locations
  • Ready-made practice awaiting with a pending retirement
  • Greatest need is for Medical or Surgical Retina and Cornea/Refractive/Glaucoma specialists as well as comprehensive Ophthalmology.
  • 2022 and 2023 residency and fellowship graduates encouraged to apply
  • General Ophthalmology welcome - interest in some cataracts, lids, Lasik, and glaucoma surgeries desired
  • Group is not interested in physicians who wish to limit their practice to only Pediatrics, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Oculoplastics, Glaucoma or Cornea (Glaucoma/Cornea/Refractive specialists must be willing to have a comprehensive practice with some Cataract surgery too).
  • Physician-owned practice servicing Southern Illinois and Southeast Missouri for over 40 years. Physicians are committed to a family-first culture and are not interested in selling to a large equity firm.
  • Physician-owned surgery center with buy-in potential.
  • Home based telephone call is split between the doctors. No surgical call as emergent cases are referred to the St. Louis hospitals.
  • Opening is due to continued growth and the upcoming retirement of one of the providers. Huge number of patients available to transfer and build into the practice.
  • Flexible compensation plans that can be tailored to meet your skills and needs. Salary will go up if interested in surgical procedures. Can also structure revenue-based incentives if the candidate prefers that setup.

  • Teaching opportunity with local family medicine residents if desired but not required. Limited research and no clinical trials currently.

  • J-1 visa sponsorship available if needed. Group has experience sponsoring visas.
  • 2 hours to St. Louis, MO and under 3 hours to Nashville, TN. Local airports offer direct flights to St. Louis, Nashville, and Chicago.
