POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Customer Service Manager, this position is responsible for dispatching approximately 20 company trucks/drivers. They are also required to help customers and co-workers according to their needs. It is their responsibility to ensure that policies and standards are followed in their area of competence. Accuracy of deliveries and associated documents is ensured thru system audit functions. Attention to detail and multi-tasking is required. Must be a team player and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED & DISCRETION EXERCISED: In this position, the supervisor provides continuing or individual assignments by indicating generally what is to be done, limitations, quality and quantity expected, deadlines and priorities. Additional, specific instructions are given for new, difficult, or unusual assignments. The employee uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments. The supervisor assures that the work is technically accurate and in compliance with instructions or established procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with management, sales teams, customers, and coworkers.
  • Learns business processes and policies.
  • Communicates with customers and sales reps via phone, email, and text, maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Performs stock checks and inventory availability.
  • Provides delivery status reports for customers and sales team.
  • Has the ability to create delivery documents and works with inside sales to identify and prioritize loads.
  • Schedules drivers and trucks, first loads (morning) and second loads (afternoon).
  • Coordinates job site cleanup and customer returns.
  • Is aware of and follows DOT regulations.
  • Has a working knowledge of logistics, distance, and delivery time.
  • Working knowledge of GPS/navigational systems.
  • Coordinates with Transportation Mgr. for truck and driver availability.
  • Performs monthly review of system documents to ensure status is current and documents are closing timely.
  • Attends department and in-house sales meetings.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by the company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • Participates in Physical Inventory Count.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Customer Service Manager, the company, or its designated representative.
  • Predictable and Regular attendance required, must be able to work overtime as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one (1) to three (3) years related experience and/or training on dispatching trucks; or
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • On-the-job training is required to perform essential duties listed above.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of ERP software modules and business processes, SAP preferred.
  • Ability to perform repetitive routines.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, customers, and supervisors, ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and in making decisions.
  • Ability to problem solve/utilize critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to follow or give verbal and written instructions, as applicable.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word software at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer, including word processing and spreadsheet software; 10-key calculator; phone; copy machine; fax machine, in-focus machine, and a digital sender.
  • Predictable and Regular attendance is required, must be able to work overtime as needed.

  • Sitting, standing, bend at the waist, talking/listening, use of arms and hands to grip, hold, reach, or manipulate the listed tools and equipment.
  • The employee must periodically lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Pay Range $21.00 to $22.00
