Responsibilities:

  • Provide respiratory care procedures under medical direction
  • Assess resident's condition and administer prescribed therapy
  • Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures
  • Perform assessment of residents' cardiopulmonary status and formulate care plan
  • Administer respiratory care modalities and document performance
  • Inspect and test equipment, maintain supply of necessary equipment
  • Assist in emergency cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as part of the emergency team
  • Initiate, administer, evaluate, and document all therapy modalities ordered by a physician
  • Recognize and respond to resident's adverse reactions to therapy modalities
  • Attend internal and external educational programs to enhance technical skills
  • Participate in interdisciplinary resident rounds and conferences
  • Participate in quality assurance program data collection
  • Ensure effective and efficient delivery of rehab services
  • Participate in equipment troubleshooting and optimization of diagnostic equipment
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements:

  • Completion of a NBRC approved and accredited program
  • One year of clinical practice experience under medical direction
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
  • Current State Licensure for a Respiratory Care Practitioner
