Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Central Resource Pool
Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical & Progressive Care
Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day/Night Rotating
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry experience
License: Active SD or compact state RN license
Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS
Must-Have:
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records
- Willingness to float to any Medical-Surgical or Telemetry unit within scope of practice
Job Description:
- Work in a 30-bed medical-surgical unit and an 8-bed progressive care unit.
- Gain valuable critical care experience, particularly in mechanical ventilation.
- Focus on safe patient outcomes across a range of conditions, including pneumonia, COPD, CHF, COVID-19, pulmonary embolism, and more.
- Utilize skills in oxygen therapy, intravenous medications, moderate sedation monitoring, and cardiac monitoring.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including case managers, social workers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and physical therapists.
- Flexible schedule with potential for straight night shifts, rotating shifts, or blocked scheduling.
- Participate in unit and house-wide committees focused on performance improvement, clinical reasoning, research, and service excellence.
- Opportunity for education advancement with board certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Progressive Care Nursing, or Medical-Surgical Nursing.
- Engage in professional development opportunities and leadership roles such as Clinical Care Leader.
