Overview We are currently seeking a Network Computer Specialist. The primary role of Computer Network Specialist is to support the US Government in maintaining Network domains within the Combined Test Bed (CTB) laboratory conduct workstation system administrative duties on the SSC PAC networks. Responsibilities Essential Functions/Job Duties: Independently generates documentation that presents ideas and/or information in a logical manner. Able to organize the information and use the best methods and/or formats for its' delivery (e.g. Government instructions, industry de-facto standards, etc.). This position requires basic knowledge of Computer Network Systems. Primary role of Computer Network Specialist is to support the US Government in maintaining Network domains within the Combined Test Bed (CTB) laboratory conduct workstation system administrative duties on the SSC PAC networks. Provide support with implementation requirements of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) standards (eMASS, STIG, SCAP, and ACAS). Basic knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) practices for computer networking systems and interfacing protocols used in the CTB. Executes Windows Patch Management, Windows Server Update Service (WSUS), and Host Based Security Service (HBSS). Equipment Used: Computers Servers Switches Cables Typical Working Conditions: Laboratory Environment Computer/Equipment lab. Essential Physical Tasks: Ability to lift 10 lbs on an occasional basis. Ability to use a computer and mouse on a consistent basis. Written Communications: Independently generates documentation that presents ideas and/or information in a logical manner. Able to organize the information and use the best methods and/or formats for its' delivery (e.g. Government instructions, industry de-facto standards, etc.). Verbal Communications: Demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in the English language. Qualifications Skills/Qualifications: Three (3) years of relevant experience. Basic knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) practices for computer networking systems and interfacing protocols used in the CTB. Customer Interface Activities: Interfaces with customer and other contractor/civilian/military representatives utilizing clear and effective written and oral communication skills. Project Management / Staff Supervision Tasks: Follows Government, company, or project processes and approval methods. Ability to follow clear established process and team priorities. Contributes to the project team and/or manages a project task. Work Schedule: The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements. Minimum Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED. Bachelors degree in Information technology or Computer Engineering preferred. Required Certifications: CompTIA Security + Windows Operating System (OS) Pay Range: $85,000.00 to $95,000.00 annually, DOE U.S. Citizenship is required Security Clearance: Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
