With over 60 years of service to the community as the premier imaging center in Tallahassee, we continue to grow and thrive. We are seeking a Mammo Technologist to join our growing team. This is a full time, benefits eligible position. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8a-4p.
The salary range is $26-34 per hour with generous shift differential for hours after 6pm and Saturdays.
This position includes:

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Responsible for performing mammography procedures for diagnostic purposes.
SUPERVISED BY: WIC Supervisor
SUPERVISES: Not applicable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assumes responsibility for designated work areas and equipment.
Correlates clinical history with examination to be performed in order to obtain diagnostic results.
Familiarity with clerical procedures in mammography concerning requisitions, charges, codes, and scheduling.
Communicate effectively and cooperate with other staff members and radiologist.
Follows safety standards and uses radiation protection when operating radiologic equipment.
Ability to deal effectively with patients and referring clinician's offices.
Proficient in all facets of mammography, including surgical and special procedures.
Examines radiologic film for technical quality and diagnostic acceptability and assembles films for interpretation.
Assists in technical training of students and staff.
EDUCATION:
High school degree or equivalent. Completion of accredited course in Radiologic Technology and maintain current Florida HRS licensure. Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Must maintain ongoing continuing education requirements. Certification in Mammography and ARRT.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two years experience in radiology imaging modalities; one year of mammography experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of breast anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of quality assurance requirements.
- Technical and positional knowledge to produce highest quality of mammography.
- Knowledge of radiologic equipment and testing.
- Knowledge of safety hazards related to radiology.
- Skill in properly positioning patients to provide quality imaging.
- Skill in troubleshooting equipment and image quality analysis.
- Skill in training co-workers in equipment operations.
- Ability to identify problems and communicate clearly.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Combination of standing 4-6 hours per day, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and transferring activities. Must be able to use correct body mechanics to assist patients appropriately. Occasional stress from multiple requests.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Sometimes works in close quarters. Exposure to radiation, communicable diseases, body fluids, and other conditions common to radiology office setting.
EXPOSURE DETERMINATION TO BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS:
Category I: Classification in which employee has significant occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
