Purchasing Assistant

Our esteemed clienht in Shady Grove, PA is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join there organization. The Purchasing Assistant will work closely with buyers and senior buyers to establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, internal customers, and strategic teams. The role involves ensuring the timely availability of correct parts and services to meet production needs, business plans, and financial goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, manage, and maintain purchase orders for materials; assist with coordinating part and material deliveries.
  • Review and report on the status of open purchase orders and deliveries.
  • Assist in resolving schedule conflicts or delivery delays to meet production requirements.
  • Identify and communicate potential issues to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams and external suppliers for issues related to engineering, quality, and delivery.
  • Coordinate activities to resolve quality issues and manage corrective actions.
  • Maintain files, system parameters, and records, and generate reports for review and distribution.
  • Provide direct support to buyers and supervisors in financial control, risk management, and resolving delivery and quantity discrepancies with supplier invoices.
  • Promote and adhere to safety standards, participate in safety training, and report any safety concerns.
Communications:
  • Internal communication with associates, managers, directors, and supervisors.
  • External communication with suppliers and service providers.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Less than 1 year of experience in materials or purchasing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and urgency.
  • Normal office environment with occasional exposure to a shop environment.
