A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring a Systems Administrator - Windows Server

Position type: Full-time - Contract
Duration: 12+ Months Contract position with possible extensions
Location: Newport News, VA 23607

As a Systems Administrator -with Windows Server, you will:

  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
  • Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
  • Interact with users and evaluate vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. 6 Years with Bachelors; 4 Years with Masters
  • Equivalency: Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience.
  • A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Experienced Senior, Windows Server Administrator, with experience in Windows Server 2022 and later.
  • Responsible for administration, support and optimization of the Windows Server Operating based systems in virtualized and non-virtualized environments.
  • Candidate should have strong trouble shooting and scripting skills, as well as VMWare knowledge.
Position Description:
  • The candidate should have a complete understanding of the Windows Server operating systems.
  • Experience supporting Windows Servers in an ESX virtual environment and on Physical hardware.
  • Additional knowledge of SAN storage, ESX Virtual Center, and SimpliVity hardware is a plus.
  • The use of PowerShell and other scripting tools is highly desired.
  • Duties include administrative operational and technical support for a variety of different Windows servers that are geographically dispersed across the country, which includes the following items: system patching & upgrades, capacity planning, performance monitoring, problem resolution, providing timely metrics on server availability, and implementation and maintenance of customer and Security procedures.
  • Familiarity with the processes and procedures for server upgrades and data migration tools.
Duties include:
  • Must be detail orientated and able to work in a fast-paced, virtual team environment with general supervision.
  • Understand and exhibit a strong team concept approach.
  • Individuals must provide timely and effective customer support in a professional, responsive manner. Exhibit excellent communication and customer service skills, while being self-motivated, and a willingness to learn.
  • Responding to trouble and supporting tickets in a timely manner to meet published SLAs, monitor systems for errors and system performance. Creating, maintaining, and following formal processes.
  • Understand SOX controls to support financial systems.
Must Have's:
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of IT systems.
  • Experience supporting Windows Servers in an ESX virtual environment and on Physical hardware.
  • PowerShell or other scripting languages is a must.
  • Effective problem-solving and attention to details.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Salary Range: $50 - $54 Per hour.
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
