Job Description

To assist in the increase of retention and growth regarding The Christ Hospital and community physicians across six functional areas including: Musculoskeletal Services, Specialized Surgical Services, Comprehensive & Integrated Medical Care, Women's Services, Oncology Services, and Geriatrics Services; will be designated to specific service line (s).

This individual will be responsible for aligning all efforts of their assigned service line with the responsible Executive Director to include, but not limited to, growth & retention goals in the following areas: targeting and executing strategic tactics for vertical integration, targeted inpatient and outpatient facilities and services, and physician referral integration.

The Physician Relations Representative is also responsible for strategic planning and implementing outreach efforts focusing on physicians, community groups, and other potential referral sources throughout the hospital's targeted market. The position emphasizes sales objectives based on market assessments and physician needs, the maintenance of good account relationships as well as the development and execution of innovative selling ideas and methodologies.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates keen knowledge of assigned service lines (as well as strategic initiatives across all services lines) and related network business plans. Proactively promotes programs and services, including educating physicians and staff members, to help The Christ Hospital achieve volume/profitability goals and prevent system leakage (market share/profitability).

Responsible for collection and verification of data related to increase in growth and referral redirection with both employed and community physician offices within specific and targeted areas in relation to inpatient and outpatient services, facilities, and specialty physicians.

Maintains database and summarizes/reports findings from physician office interactions and assists in managing physician complaints on behalf of hospital administration.

Coordinates the marketing partnership about The Christ Hospital and its services to community-based specialists and primary care physician's offices/staff by assisting in development of information pieces; visiting physician offices to communicate changes in services/programs. Conducts market assessments and analyzes physician office needs.

Responsible for joint efforts with the service line assigned for physician recruitment and orientation to The Christ Hospital Health Network. This individual will also be responsible for facilitating any physician/provider issues/concerns across service lines.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in business administration, healthcare administration, nursing, communications, marketing, public relations or related degree; Master's degree preferred.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: This individual should have experience and success in utilizing the skills of strategic targeting & planning, a strong sales background (preferably in healthcare) as well as strong customer focus, business acumen, and organizational skills.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Sales experience (preferably in healthcare industry) desired. Knowledge and skills in marketing of health care services/products a plus. Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of staff. Excellent customer service skills, good organizational skills, the ability to be self-starter and work with minimal supervision. Strengths in use of Microsoft office software, helpful. This position will largely be in the field with travel required on a daily basis. Must have reliable vehicle, valid drivers license and automobile insurance.
