The rol e you’ll contribute: Reporting to the Cardiovascular Programs Manager/Supervisor, the Exercise Physiologist provides professional fitness services to patients based on their health and fitness needs, which includes fitness testing, performing customer service tasks, and assisting patients with exercise routines and equipment utilization. The va lue you’ll bring to the team: · Conducts fitness assessments and prescribes exercise programs for patients and is responsible for follow-up with these patients. May also be required to send reports to the member’s referring physician. · Coordinates and administers individual exercise program consultations for patients based on current American College of Sports Medicine (“ACSM”) and Cardiac Rehabilitation Program guidelines. Coordinates referrals to and from AHT for appropriate intervention based on Cardiac Rehabilitation guidelines. · Collaborates with Inpatient Services to facilitate referrals to Outpatient Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab Programs, as needed. · Collaborates with nursing staff to review and approve physician prescriptions to evaluate and treat in the Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programs · Collaborates with Registered Nurses, Team Leader, and Programs Manager/Supervisor in the development, implementation and administration of the Physician Referral Program, including interaction with physicians, physician office staff members and AHT physician representatives. Qualifications The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed: · B.S. degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology or related major · BLS Certification required upon hire.
