Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Acute Medical and Progressive Care Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night - 12x3 - 7PM - 7AM - 36 Hours per week Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in an Academic Level 1 or 2 Trauma center or a similar size hospital. IMC experience required. ICU experience considered but must be willing to work with non-ICU patients. Experience with transplant and tracheostomy is required. License: Nursing license from a compact state or the state of the permanent address. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified through the American Heart Association. Must-Have: - Basic Arrhythmia experience.- Ability to pass the Telemetry test.- Willingness to float to other units based on staffing needs.- Two references from recent work assignments (supervisor or manager only). Job Description: - Provide comprehensive and specialized nursing care to acutely ill adult patients with multiple comorbidities, a variety of medical diagnoses, and hemodynamic instability.- Work within a nationally recognized lung transplant program.- Care for specialty populations, including patients with Cystic Fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and those post-lung transplant.- Transition patients smoothly amongst levels of care, including from critical care units to the acute progressive care unit.- Exhibit critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a desire for high-quality care in a learning environment.- Opportunities throughout the year to attain new knowledge and grow in nursing practice.- Hold certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, with encouragement to pursue specialty certification in Medical-Surgical or Progressive Care Nursing.- Potentially work in multiple units during the assignment based on staffing needs.
