Registered Nurse with a Bachelor Degree in Nursing (or related field) with current Texas licensure. A minimum of 3 years of surgical/medical experience.

Job Description:

With minimal supervision, serves as a clinician with advanced knowledge and skills demonstrating a high degree of professional competence and autonomy in the care of patients within the transplant program.

Serves in a variety of roles including: clinician; collaborator; educator; consultant; researcher; and advocate to patients, families, and staff as necessary. Additionally acts as a consultant/ liaison to internal and external customers.

The clinical transplant coordinator (CTC) is a designated member of the transplant team and is primarily responsible for coordinating clinical aspects of patient care throughout all phases of transplantation and living donation. The CTC works with patients and their families from referral, through the transplant evaluation and continuing during and after transplantation, in a compassionate and tactful manner in order to provide and facilitate access to continuity of care. The CTC role may support the ventricular assist device program as defined in the essential job functions below.
