Summary: A Tack Truck Driver operates an asphalt distributor truck that applies specialized emulsions to pavement prior to asphalt paving. Duties and Responsibilities: Must have a clean driving record, Must be able to demonstrate safe operation of assigned equipment based on changing operating conditions with an emphasis on backing up, Must be able to drive and operate a distributor truck equipped with a tank to spray asphalt emulsions on road surfaces in accordance with contract specifications, Driver must be able to apply their experience and judgment to make decisions within their limit of authority, Responsible for operating the truck in a safe appropriate manner, including the loading process, Responsible for keeping the vehicle in a clean state, Ability to read and interpret the equipment operators manual, Work in inclement weather including snow details, Perform minor repairs to the vehicle or report to a supervisor, Perform daily safety checks, Ability to work in areas of uneven terrain and reduced room for maneuvering, Assist in training new drivers, Understand and execute different emulsions, May be required to work extended hours including evenings, nights, and weekends, Additional duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Commercial drivers license (CDL) B with N tanker endorsement required, Applicants must be able to operate Manual Transmission vehicles, Must possess two (2 ) years of experience as an Asphalt Distributor operator, Must have an acceptable driving record, Must communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees, High School Diploma or GED required, COVID-19 vaccination is highly recommended, Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening.
