Pediatric Physiatrist

Responsible for providing primary care for patients suffering from injuries and common illnesses including diagnosing disorders, prescribing medications, making recommendations on lifestyle changes, and answering patients' questions. May work in one or more areas of specialization, such as anesthesiology, family and general medicine, internal medicine, and pediatrics. Principal Accountabilities: Examines patients, takes medical histories, addresses patients' concerns, and answers patients' questions. Diagnoses and treats injuries, illnesses, and disorders. Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests and explains the results to patients. Counsels patients on diet, hygiene, preventative healthcare, and other lifestyle changes. Consults with other physicians, refers patients to specialists when necessary, and works with other healthcare staff, such as nurses, assistants, and other physicians. Explains medical procedures to patients, and prescribes medications or therapies. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required: Bachelor's degree in Medical or related field. A state license and certification to practice medicine. Successful completion of a residency and internship. Preferred: Knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of illnesses.
