Essential Functions:
  • Help students attain an optimum level of social-emotional regulation
  • ?Provide a comprehensive school counseling program program to all students
  • Analyze various data, such as MTSS data, to determine needs and monitor progress
  • Identify students in need of support in the areas of social-emotional regulation and academics and make appropriate recommendations and referrals
  • Consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and supporting agencies concerning the needs and abilities of students
  • Provide professional development for classroom teachers in SEL, Trauma-Informed Practices, and College and Career Readiness.
  • Help teachers develop individualized behavior plans for students who struggle with emotional regulation
  • Help facilitate interventions, supports, and for during and after school SEL programs for elementary students
  • Create grade appropriate College and Career Activities that are embedded with 'best practices"
  • Collaborate with community partners to support the needs of students and families
  • Develop programming and support for students and families as they transition to middle school
  • Serve on and collaborate with the District-wide Comprehensive School Counseling Team
  • Ensure that all activities conform to district guidelines
  • Work and communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community organizations
  • Respond to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned
  • Support the value of education
  • Support the philosophy and vision of Lake Ridge New Tech Schools
General Responsibilities:
  • Update and maintain confidential student records, including cumulative transcripts and student files
    Supports and maintains a professional attitude and understands the importance of confidentiality in professional relationships
    Keep informed of new information, innovative ideas, and advanced techniques
    Stay current with Data that relates to all programs and the district level MTSS Handbook
    Provide grade level appropriate college and career activities embedded with best practices.
    Help develop grade level materials to support college and career activities for each grade level.
