Maintenance Technician II - Evansville, IN
This is an hourly, non-exempt level position.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of maintenance activities on electrical and mechanical equipment across multiple locations. This role involves repairing and troubleshooting machinery, reading blueprints, and conducting emergency and preventative maintenance. To excel in this role, you will be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other maintenance colleagues, while adhering to safety protocols and demonstrating strong work ethic and adaptability.
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance activities individually or as part of a team with co-workers
- Repairing electrical, mechanical equipment, operating equipment, and tools
- Reading and understanding blueprints and manuals
- Welding and pipefitting as necessary
- Reading and interpreting drawings
- Perform emergency & preventative mechanical & electrical repairs on all equipment (includes cleaning, lubricating, adjusting parts, equipment & machinery)
- Troubleshoot all equipment throughout the facility
- Communicate with the Production Staff and the Maintenance Supervisor regarding status of equipment
- Work with operators to monitor all safety items on the machines and keep them in optimal operating condition
- Maintain Tool Inventory, verify all tools & equipment are properly accounted for and stored correctly
- Ability to assist in all areas of the loading, unloading and transferring of grain and grain products for truck, barge, rail (location specific) and inspects barges, trucks and railcars before loading
- Proficient in all facets of ADM's safety programs and culture, has a strong working knowledge of safety procedures and environmental regulations, demonstrates safe working practices, has the ability to perform JHA's and recognize near misses
- Perform housekeeping and cleaning duties
- Ability to learn and follow procedures for barge operations
- Follow procedures for working over water and on barges
- Ability to learn and follow procedures for rail operations
- Ability to learn and follow procedures for inventory management and bin capacities
- Ability to learn and follow procedures for power industrial equipment
- Performs any and all duties of Production Specialist and Utility Position
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2-3 years of maintenance experience required
- Commitment to ADM's goal of achieving a zero injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures , as well as a commitment to uphold the ADM Code of Conduct
- Required to work any shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Able to meet physical requirements of the position including, but not limited to: prolonged periods of standing and sitting, working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, working in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.), move up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to wear a respirator
- Colleague will be expected to show an ability to learn functions outside of the production specialist to help fill for temporary or permanent vacancies in other roles
- Demonstrate initiative to work independently while flexible enough to work in team setting when needed
- Ability to work safely and follow policies and procedures
- Ability to effectively communication with all members of team
