POSITION SUMMARY:# Coordinates, oversees and delivers patient care system-wide using an interdisciplinary approach, utilizing the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.# Directs and provides patient teaching activities.# Maintains standards of professional nursing practices.# Documents complete and accurate patient information in compliance with Patient Services Department policy and other regulatory agency requirements.# Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental and divisional nursing philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives.# Coordinates family involvement in assessment and treatment of the patient.# EDUCATION/TRAINING: Bachelors degree in nursing required. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current RN licensure to practice in the State of Illinois and required certification for respective nursing departments.# Bi-annual CPR certification required. Specialty certification in area of concentration preferred. Non-Invasive Cardiology:# CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.# ACLS required within one year of hire. Cath Lab:# ACLS certification required within one year of hire. Emergency Department:# Bi-annual CPR certification required, which is required to be renewed by the recommended renewal date as stated on the card.# RN must obtain the following certifications within 6 months of employment:# ACLS (maintain), PALS (maintain) and CPI.# RN must also obtain and maintain the following certifications within 18 months of employment:# ENPC, TNCC and ECRN. Heart Hospital Nursing Units:# Heart Hospital RN must obtain ACLS with in one year of hire. 9th Floor:# ACLS within one year of hire. Special Care Nursery/Mother Baby:# NRP by end of orientation. L#D:# ACLS and NRP by end of orientation. Float Pool:# ACLS and PALS within one year of hire, and NRP if floating to Mother Baby. PACU: ACLS and PALS by the end of orientation. Mobile Health Unit: Must possess active driver#s license and be approved to drive mobile health van. CFMH/SNU:# CPI within 6 months of hire. Surgical Oncology: UW Health Chemotherapy course completion within six months of hire EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.# Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in a caring, considerate and concerned manner.# Willingness to accept responsibility.# Ability to direct ancillary and assistive staff and organize work assignments.# Leadership skills essential to the position.# Ability to provide exceptional customer service to all customers of the organization.# Ability to transition between facilities based on the needs of the health system. # ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Demonstrates use of the nursing process in the delivery of individualized plan of patient care.
