REQUIREMENTS:
- Education Level: Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Experience, Skill, and Certification:
- Valid nursing license
- Valid Georgia Driver's License
- Two or more years of experience in school or public health
- Ability to travel to more than one location daily
- Ability to work flexible hours and locations based on daily assignment for each schools' work schedule
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Pediatric experience
- Experience in providing health instruction
- Medicaid billing experience
- Coordinates activity with Lead Nurse for assignments based on workforce needs.
- Promotes communicable disease control through exclusion/readmission authorization of students having a contagious disease or condition.
- Works with parents, care providers, & community resources to meet students' health needs.
- Reviews and assesses student immunization records for required vaccinations.
- Assumes responsibility for personal continuing education and professional development.
- Performs other duties as necessary for the effectiveness & safety of the school.
Additional duties and responsibilities for RN's
7. Conducts Medicaid billing for eligible students.
8. Mentors nursing students in accordance with District approved standards.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Incumbents will be considered "at will." This is an "essential personnel, critical staff" position. When there is an event that creates security challenges or disruptions to district operations, this position may be required to work during identified periods of an emergency as defined in Policy Regulation GBRB-R. Appropriate pay will be determined based on the Grade LPN= G-12; BSN/MSN= G1516 and allowable experience as determined by Human Resources. The work calendar will be the 200 days classified calendar. This position is non-exempt.
