Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : DAYS - 12HR: 6:45am-7:15pm

Duties:
  • Coordinates discharge planning needs with members as needed;
  • Instructs and educates patients and families;
  • Orients and mentors new staff members;
  • Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate;
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment;
  • Administers medications, changes dressings, and cleans wounds;
  • Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for patient care;
  • Carries out physician orders and assesses plans to administer patient care;
  • Utilizing computerized documentation systems and monitors vital signs;
  • Provides age and culturally appropriate care.
Requirements:
  • Provides for patient safety at all time;
  • Can manage multiple priorities;
  • Utilizes all equipment in the unit appropriate to patient with maximum efficiency and effectiveness based on knowledge and education;
  • Adapts to a rapidly changing work environment;
  • Interventions are implemented in a safe and appropriate manner and documented;
  • Provides health care teaching to patient/family or significant other with documentation;
  • Verifies accuracy of medication administration by following all safety measures;
  • Demonstrates the ability to work with people form diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
