Under the direction of the Oncology/Infusion Director, delivers quality care to patients in the Infusion area assigned unit. Will assure that patient and family needs are met. Provides for open communication within the unit, patients, families, physicians, other units and departments. Demonstrates knowledge of patient/staff safety measures. Builds and maintains professional relationships.

  • Carries out patient care according to hospital policies and procedures functioning within the limitations of the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Assesses plans, administers and evaluates individualized care for each patient.
  • Accountable for the safe administration of medications.
  • Demonstrates ongoing competency in administration and monitoring effects of chemotherapy/immunotherapy agents.
  • Plans and coordinates work flow to ensure completion of assigned duties in a timely manner.
  • Assists coworkers in completion of work.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform/assist specialized procedures.
  • Assesses patient/family physical and psychosocial needs.
  • Develops rapport with patient/family.
  • Identifies need for patient/family teaching.
  • Makes appropriate referrals - Nutrition, Wound Care, Financial Assistance, HHC, DME.
Requirements

4 days per week - 9 hour shifts
  • Must be currently licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Colorado.
  • Two years of recent hospital experience required.
  • Previous experience in Oncology and/or Outpatient Infusion Service, preferred.
  • ACLS required upon hire or within 6 months. BLS required.
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy course required; obtaining certification within 1 year of employment.
