Opportunity

Abt Global seeks bright, talented, and intellectually curious students to participate in our summer Abternship. As a paid intern in the Global Security Office, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on industry experience while being immersed in Abt’s organizational culture. Interns will learn from some of the top experts in their respective fields while experiencing events/programs that are useful in any professional setting. Our programs will consist of a robust and structured curriculum that encompasses professional development opportunities, networking events, and a mentorship program. Interns can be remote, hybrid, or in person and can be located anywhere in the United States.

The Summer Internship Program at Abt Global is 10 weeks, beginning June 2, 2025, through August 8, 2025. Interns must be able to work full time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the program.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and implementation of security and risk management plans, processes, and initiatives

  • Conduct independent research and analysis to produce threat trend analyses, risk assessments, tailored security reporting, and briefings on countries where Abt personnel are deployed

  • Promote the implementation of security best practices throughout the organization

  • Assist in the development and facilitation of global security training initiatives for Abt staff

Department Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s-level graduate degree program

  • Academic and professional experience in International Relations, Security Studies, Regional Studies, Security and Risk Management, or related fields

  • Excellent research, analysis, and briefing skills

  • Interest in strategic and tactical planning

  • Ability to function in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment

Program Minimum Qualifications:

  • Has completed at least two years of college coursework

  • Has excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Is available to work full-time throughout the 10-week internship

  • Is eligible to work in the United States

  • Transitioning military are also encouraged to apply

This position offers an anticipated hourly rate of:

Undergraduate student: $25.00/hour

Graduate student: $28.00/hour

PhD student: $30.00/hour
