Job Description

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Sales Planner to join our Motorsports team in Marietta, GA. The Sales Planner will work with the National Sales Planning Manager to co-develop and implement the strategies and programs to achieve sales targets. Specifically, this position will assist in the development and implementation of dealership programs to increase engagement and maximize sales (wholesale order programs, incentives, advertising, product education, etc.) as well as consumer facing incentives. They will be a key liaison between the Product Line Manager and the Field/Dealer Network teams, communicating priorities and coordinating regional marketing initiatives/programs. The Sales Planner will handle communication to the field team dealers related to the above responsibilities (provides input into dealer communications, hosts TEAMS meetings, present at field meetings, etc.) Additionally, they provide input to the forecasting team to improve our short mid-term sales forecasts, as well as product testing.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Analyze, create, implement and monitor retail incentive, dealer marketing, order and wholesale related programs to hit targets. Work with the Product Line Manager, field team, Sales Operations and Financial Services to create and implement programs.
  • Manage multi-million dollar budgets track expenses for retail incentives and wholesale programs to ensure they are within budget. Communicate programs to field team/dealers (i.e., co-draft and edit dealer bulletins, power point presentations, etc.).
  • Gather, track and be the subject matter expert on competitive wholesale/retail and dealer marketing programs.
  • Co-develop the dealer retail strategy and programs in conjunction with Product Line Manager and Dealer Network Strategy Manager (i.e., key priorities, Top Focus Dealer pgms., dealer education, showroom materials, etc.).
  • Working with Yamaha Motor University (YMU), assist in the creation and implementation of the education plan to ensure dealers and the field team understand new products. This includes Feature/Benefit training modules, power point presentations, video and live meetings, etc. Work with the Dealer Network Strategy Manager to create field team sales tools/education materials, as needed, to assist in hitting sales targets.
  • Co-develop and communicate regional marketing priorities/strategy/budgets and work with regional field management and district managers to implement. Meet monthly with regional management to review progress. Attend regional field team meetings, visit key dealers, displays/demos and markets as necessary to gather consumer, field and dealer marketing insights.
  • Provide competitive and Yamaha specific wholesale/retail program related information to the forecasting team so they can more accurately update industry and Yamaha sales forecasts. Also assist the forecasting team during the product pricing process by providing competitive insights.
  • Create presentations to communicate business situation to executive management and other internal staff (ex: Executive Monthly Meeting Presentation).
  • High level of autonomy expected
What you’ll need to be successful:
  • BA/BS degree in Business Management, Marketing or other related course of study required.
  • Minimum 5 years of motorsports experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must have good writing, communication and presentation skills.
  • Good proficiency in MS Office (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint).
