Job Description

The International Enrollment Counselor at the Campbellsville Campus will be responsible for facilitating international students through the enrollment process at Campbellsville University. Reporting to the Director of International Enrollment, you will be interacting with students, families, recruitment agencies and representatives of over 65 countries. The position will also serve as Designated School Official for SEVP and the successful applicant will be responsible for providing guidance to prospective students throughout the process of obtaining an F-1 visa. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all requirements pertaining to international students and their dependents at CU as set forth by the Department of Homeland Security, Department of State, Social Security Administration, and other government agencies. The position will require regular traveling and a valid US passport is required. The successful applicant will be part of a team that serves international students from their initial interest in the University throughout their time of being on campus.

As the International Enrollment Counselor, your duties will include
  • Reaching out to new applicants and assisting them through the enrollment process. As students apply to Campbellsville University, you will be responsible for assisting them with submitting the appropriate documentation for reaching acceptance to the University. You will continue supporting the student by assisting the student obtain their I-20, register for visa interviews, complete their file, and finally arrive to campus.
  • Speaking to prospective students about Campbellsville University either at in person events or through webinars. This position will be responsible for speaking with students and families in a variety of formats about enrolling in Campbellsville University. This may include enrollment fairs, visiting high schools, speaking in webinars, and having virtual personal meetings with prospective students. Some speaking events will be held outside of the US. The person chosen for this role should feel comfortable with both traveling solo as well as with other CU employees. A valid US passport is required.
  • Establish relationships with and maintain partnerships with international recruitment agents and agencies. Campbellsville University uses external recruitment agencies to recruit students in different parts of the world. As the International Enrollment Counselor, you will be regularly interacting with agents to help facilitate the enrollment process for the students that you send. Additionally, you may be asked to meet with potential new recruitment agencies and establish new partnerships.
  • Collaborating with other offices on campus to ensure that students have a smooth transition into being a student at Campbellsville University. The International Enrollment Counselor will help to facilitate a smooth transition into campus life and when interacting with other offices on campus. This will include working with our Residence Life team when helping students reserve housing, working with our Center for Global Engagement office to coordinate student's arrival to campus, working with the academic support center during new student orientation, etc.
  • Issuing form I-20's to new prospective international students. This position will serve as a designated school official issuing initial I-20's to new incoming international students as well as incoming undergraduate transfer students. Additionally, the person in this position will help to provide supporting documentation and guidance for students applying for their F-1 student visa.
  • Staying compliant with guidelines from SEVP. As a designated school official, you will be required to stay compliant with SEVP guidelines. Initial trainings will be provided so you are adequately prepared. Additionally, there will regularly be future opportunities for further trainings through webinars and conferences.
  • Other duties as assigned. As the university and the International Enrollment office evolves, other duties may be assigned to you.
The preferred candidate will meet the following requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Must be U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident to meet regulatory requirements as a Designated School Official.
  • Must be willing to travel to participate in professional meetings and conferences.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Experience with use of MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with FERPA regulations.
  • Must have good time management and customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, organizational, analytical, and oral/written communication skills preferred.
